If you’re homeschooling in Georgia, we have some exciting news to share with you!
Miacademy is now an educational provider for Georgia’s Promise Scholarship Program! Families can now access Miacademy’s accredited online homeschool curriculum with funding provided by the state of Georgia.
What Is the Georgia Promise Scholarship?
Signed into law in 2024, the Promise Scholarship is making nonpublic education more accessible for Georgia families!
K-12 students can now use public funding to pay for private school tuition, tutoring services, community college courses, supplemental materials, and other qualified education expenses.
Scholarship recipients may receive up to $6,500 for the 2025-26 school year.
Who Is Eligible for the Georgia Promise Scholarship?
To qualify for the Georgia Promise Scholarship, students must:
- Have been enrolled in a Georgia public school for two consecutive semesters OR be a rising kindergarten student.
- Reside in a public school zone in the bottom 25% for performance.
- Find the Office of Student Achievement’s official list of applicable school zones here.
- Have a parent who has resided in Georgia for at least one year (unless active-duty military).
Students whose family income is not over 400% of the federal poverty level and returning scholarship participants will be prioritized over new applicants.
Your child will not be eligible for the Georgia Promise Scholarship if they:
- Receive the Georgia Special Needs Scholarship.
- Receive a scholarship, tuition grant, or other benefit from a student scholarship organization as defined by the Student Scholarship Organizations Act.
- Are currently enrolled in a public school.
How Do I Get Miacademy With the Georgia Promise Scholarship?
To receive your scholarship, complete your application online during the open application periods. You may be asked to upload copies of the following documents to prove eligibility:
- Proof of Georgia residency, such as a driver’s license or lease agreement
- OR active-duty transfer orders
- Proof of income, such as your most recent federal tax return
- Proof of enrollment in a Georgia public school, such as report cards or attendance reports (not a requirement for rising kindergarten students).
The rolling application periods for this school year are:
June 1-Jun 30, 2025
September 1-Sep 30, 2025
Dec 1, 2025-January 30, 2026
Once your application is accepted, log into the Odyssey Marketplace to view your Promise Scholarship accounts and complete your purchases. Initial funding will be available on or after July 1, 2025.
